POSITION: Summer Student - Community Participation Support & Employment Services
EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Temporary, Seasonal
HOUR(S) - ROTATION(S): 80 hours bi-weekly
COMPENSATION: $19.50 per hour
DURATION: Training starts Late May/Early June with the position ending on August /2026
This summer position supports adults with disabilities by providing hands-on help with employment activities, job coaching, and learning new workplace skills. The role includes working alongside people supported in a small business they own and operate, helping with everyday tasks such as making products, organizing supplies, and getting ready for sales. The position also involves attending local markets and vendor events to support people supported as they engage with the public and take pride in their work. In addition, the role helps with other daily employment activities by encouraging independence, building confidence, and supporting people supported to be active and involved in their community.
Qualifications:
- Experience in working with adults with intellectual disabilities, is preferred.
- Enthusiasm for creating fun and recreational and social experiences.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Current First Aid and CPR certifications are required.
- Must be 18+ years of age.
- Valid police check – vulnerable sector.
