Position Title: Supported Group Living Community Navigator
Location: West Niagara and Surrounding Areas
Position: Full-time, Temporary (16 Months)
Compensation: $25.78- $28.43/hour
Nature of Position:
Are you passionate about inclusion and community engagement? Inclusion West Niagara is seeking a full-time Community Navigator who is dedicated to ensuring that everyone feels valued and included. In this role, you will design and implement a variety of activities and sessions tailored to diverse abilities, fostering an inclusive environment for individuals in our supported group living homes.
Work Schedule:
This position offers a flexible schedule of 40 hours per week, which may include evenings and weekends. You will report to the Manager of Community Participation Supports and Services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement engaging activities that cater to a wide range of abilities.
- Collaborate with community members, volunteers, and staff to create inclusive opportunities.
- Set clear goals for the program and evaluate their effectiveness to ensure continuous improvement.
- Advocate for participants, ensuring everyone feels welcome and included, regardless of their background or abilities.
- Actively participate in community outreach to strengthen local partnerships.
Ideal Candidate:
We’re looking for someone who is creative, empathetic, and has a strong commitment to diversity and inclusion. The successful candidate will have:
- The candidate(s) must have a relevant 2-year Community College Diploma or related University Degree or equivalent relevant experience.
- Police clearance with vulnerable sector screening.
- A valid G driver's license and insurable by the agency’s insurance company.
- Experience in activity planning or a related field.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders.
- A strong initiative and problem-solving mindset.
- A detail-oriented and organized approach to planning and execution.
