Position Summary:

As a Fitter I / II, your role is critical to the reputation that Ebco has built for delivering world-class quality manufacturing. You will be working on fitting and fabricating to meet customer specifications.

 

Qualifications and Experience:

Technical Experience:

  • Fitter / Fabricator Trade Certification
  • Ability to understand and interpret drawing tolerances and specifications
  • 5+ years in medium to heavy metal fabrications
  • Experience with Carbon Steel
  • Experience with operating manual or semi-automatic flame cutting equipment, and shears

 

Responsibilities:

Main Responsibilities:

  • Interpreting drawings and welding specifications
  • Operating manual and semi-automatic welding equipment
  • Fitting to customer specifications with little to no immediate supervision
  • Operating welding equipment, oxy-fuel cutting, grinding
  • Planning your own layout and ensuring it meets drawing specification
  • Working independently for the fitting of the complex precision components
  • Operating and handling overhead cranes and lifting equipment
  • Working with Carbon and Stainless Steels and Aluminum

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge and familiarity with welding procedures and quality control requirements
  • Ability to read, understand and interpret welding procedure specifications, welding symbols and blueprints
  • Heat straightening
  • Strong critical thinking skills
  • Organizational and time management skills
  • Flexibility with shifts; dependent on workflow and projects
  • Excellent interpersonal relations
  •  Initiative and resourcefulness
  • Ability to stand, bend and walk for extended periods

 

We offer competitive wages ($45.06-$46.21/hr) and comprehensive benefits. Remuneration and benefits plan as per Ebco and Ironworker's Local 712 Collective Agreement.
