Positions Summary:

As a Welder, you will be welding with various processes in accordance with welding procedures, Manufacturing and Inspection plans, and customer specifications.

 

Technical Experience:

Must-Haves:

  • Canadian Welding Bureau (CWB) welder qualifications or equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years of welding experience
  • Experience with the following welding techniques:
  • FCAW (Flux Cored Arc Welding)
  • TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas)
  • Welding trade certification, logbook, and copies of certification required

Assets:

  • Experience with medium to heavy metal fabrication
  • Experience with the following welding techniques:
  • SAW (Sub Arc Welding)
  • GTAW (Gas Tungsten Arc Welding)
  • Stainless steel and aluminum welding
  • Forklift and overhead crane certification
  • WHMIS 2015 training

 

Responsibilities:

  • Reading and interpreting drawings, welding processes, and welding specifications
  • Welding to customer specifications with little to no immediate supervision
  • Welding vertical, flat, and overhead welds with good penetration and quality appearance
  • Operating manual, semi-automatic, or fully automated welding equipment
  • Operating turntables, rolls, oxygen cutting equipment, and hoisting and lifting equipment
  • Examining welds to ensure they meet standards and specifications
  • Communicating effectively with other workers to direct personal workflow
  • Operating equipment safely and reporting hazards to the appropriate supervisor
  • Cleaning and maintaining an orderly work area

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to communicate effectively in English (reading, writing and speaking) to Supervisors and other related departments.
  • Ability to lift or move 50 lbs. or more.
  • Ability to climb and work from a ladder.
